Interim CEO and Senior VP of Marketing, JiWire
David Staas brings to JiWire more than 13 years of marketing and product experience in both the mobile and advertising industries. Staas has been a part of numerous mobile start-ups and is extremely passionate about the location-based media space.
As senior vice president of marketing, Staas is responsible for the company’s go-to-market strategy and execution in North America. This includes leading the company’s corporate marketing, strategic marketing, and product management teams. Before joining JiWire, Staas was vice president of marketing at Ad Infuse, a leading pioneer in mobile advertising that was acquired by Velti. At Ad Infuse, he built a premium mobile network as well as a mobile ad platform deployed by some of the largest global mobile operators.
Prior to Ad Infuse, Staas led the Global Product Marketing team at Openwave Systems, the company that pioneered the mobile Internet through development of the first mobile browsers, mobile Internet gateways, location platforms and large-scale IP-based messaging systems. He was responsible for go-to-market initiatives across the full product portfolio, selling to mobile and broadband telecommunications providers in the Americas, Europe and Asia.
Staas has a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Virginia and a master’s degree in business administration from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
