Steve Jang is a cofounder and CEO of Schematic Labs, the makers of SoundTracking. Combining music, photos and geolocation, the SoundTracking app is a fun, expressive and easy way to share the soundtrack of your life using your iOS device.
Nine months after its initial launch, SoundTracking is now one of the most popular social music services integrated with Twitter, Facebook and Foursquare. In 2011 SoundTracking was named “iPhone App of the Week” by Apple in nine countries. It was recently selected as a “Best Bet” of 2012 by Billboard Magazine, and it was also featured by Twitter and Apple as part of the launch of iOS 5.
Prior to founding Schematic Labs, Jang served as one of the founding team members and co-inventor of imeem (acquired by MySpace in 2009), the pioneering social music playlist service that grew to more than 43 million registered users and launched the first-ever music API platform. Earlier in his career, Steve worked in design, research and product roles at EMI Music, XUMA and Salon.com.
Jang serves as an advisor or investor at pioneering start-ups such as Animoto, StackMob, StumbleUpon and Uber.
