Beau Haugh is cofounder and chief technology officer at Localmind, a mobile app company dedicated to putting real-time omniscience in the hands of smartphone users worldwide. Haugh drives product development and operations at Localmind with a specific focus on user-centered design and lean start-up methodology. Before cofounding Localmind in 2011, Haugh consulted on system design, mobile app development, and application performance with companies that include Sun Microsystems, Intuit and Leap Wireless, most recently managing software engineering at Neustar’s Webmetrics website monitoring division.

About Localmind

Localmind is a new service that allows you to send questions and receive answers about what is going on—right now—at places you care about. Using check-in data from Foursquare and Facebook, Localmind knows who knows what about where, so when you send a question to the Localmind community, it's routed directly to someone who can help you in real-time. The geographic expertise tracking system and real-time messaging infrastructure are accessed through the Localmind iPhone and iPad apps, in addition to the new Android app, website, and Open API.
