TERP Study

The Terrain Retrieval study, offered by BIA/Kelsey’s Dataworld division, is designed to compute 3-16 kilometer (2-10 mile) terrain averages for any point in the US. The terrain averages are computed using 3-second data from the Defense Mapping Agency. Data from the TERP program may be used with the Contour program to predict the extent of coverage for an FM or TV broadcast facility.

Customers provide the following information to use this service, :

• Job Title
• Metric or English
• Height (c/r AMSL, c/r HAAT or Terrain averages only)
• Coordinates
• Radial azimuths
• Radial segment (Section 73.313 = FM, 73.684 = TV/LPTV/TX)
