Point of sale systems are powerful sources of data on consumer behavior, so POS integration with loyalty systems has long been something of a holy grail. It has also been a seemingly insurmountable systems integration challenge, given there are more than 350 POS systems operating in North America today. Many companies see the problem as insoluble and are focusing instead on POS work-arounds. This Advisory looks at FiveStars, one company that is tackling the issue head on. The company says it has developed a solution that integrates with as much as 95 percent of POS systems.
