Constant Contact Invests in Presence Management via SinglePlatform
Jed Williams, Peter Krasilovsky, 6/15/2012
Constant Contact has made a really big bet on digital presence management with its $100 million acquisition Wednesday of SinglePlatform. Founded in 2010, SinglePlatform offers a one-stop presence management solution for SMBs and has 600,000 claimed listings and 10,000 paying customers. More critical, SinglePlatform has established a network of more than 100 media partners, which may be the most attractive element to the purchaser. This acquisition is one of several Constant Contact has made in recent months in an effort to build out its capabilities in the increasingly competitive SMB services space. Other acquisitions have brought in capabilities in social CRM, mobile deals and loyalty programs, email social hosting, among others.
